It was so wonderful to stop and see my niece Lizz on our way home!! Now I have a visual of her new house and her college campus where she is entering her senior year. Both boys loved the campus. I wish it were closer. Tomorrow Penn State and then homeward.

8/25/16 Theadore Roosevelt National Park
Today is the 100th anniversary of our National parks!! We arrived too late for the unveiling of the new Teddy Roosevelt quarter but still had a great trip around the scenic loop and got to see the wild horses we were hoping for, thanks to 2 really nice Rangers who gave me the spot to go!
Had trouble getting the quarters because they werent in stores yet and we were too late for visitors center and wanted to get on road before bank opened. Got 4 the next morning from the post office by chance (because she needed change yesterday and got a roll from a customer who had been to unveilling..... 🖒, it was meant to be! A silly story that i want to remember.
8/22/16 Red Cliff National Forest campground
Near Big Sky Montana we camped on the Gallatin river. We spent 2 days fishing. All 4 of us needed fishing licences. 12 and up!!The Gallatin is a Blue ribbon river, we were pumped......but it prooved less than spectacular. Very ,very, shallow and not many pools. Day 2 we drove to the Madison going through a small piece of Yellowstone. It was beautiful. Wow was the Madison fun. Spectacular views and great fish. Spencer caught the big one of the day!! Grants line broke from 1 really big one. At least he got a glimpse of it!! I had a blast fishing with my family. I'm a novice and the boys were so helpful!!!! I even had a mini fly fishing lesson from a woman at our lunch stop.😁
8/21/16 fishing the Swift Current river and Lake
We spent our last day at Many Glacier fishing. It was sunny ,peacefull and fun. Quite a few little ones kept us going for more.

8/19/16 Backcountry hike overnight to Red Eagle Lake
We had an amazing overnight trip into the primitive campsite. We all carried 20-40 lb packs. It wad a challenge but worth it!!
Boys caught us fish for dinner and Grant spotted a moose on the way in!!
8 /18/16 Bullhead Lake
Went for a 6.6 mile hike today to Bullhead lake in the drizzle and then rain, it was beautiful. I fished for the first time, a few nibbles but didn't hook one. We got cold. Came back to campsite. Made dinner and looked out after to see new snow in the mountains!!! No wonder my hands were cold!!
